Hakuna matata is a new brand for fashion, targeted on European customers and based on the idea of fair trade. The brand will be used both for labelling fabrics as well as media programs. Hakuna matata is a term from the east african language Swahili and means "all is well". The supply chain for cotton (and later: production and fashion design) will start in Africa, too, so including African colours (black, red and green) might be an idea, but not necessarily. Please do no not use lions, we do not want to get confused with Disney's lion king. The idea of fair trade should not result in typical designs for development aid, we would prefer to have something really stylish. We are very curious about your ideas! Hakuna matata ist eine neue Modemarke für europäische Kunden. Sie beruht auf der Idee des fairen Handels und soll sowohl die Waren selbst als auch begleitende Medienprogramme abdecken. Der Begriff hakuna matata entstammt der ostafrikanischen Sprache Suaheli und bedeutet ungefähr "alles in Ordnung" (bairisch: ois isi). Da geplant ist, die Wertschöpfungskette nach und nach nach Afrika zu verlängern, bietet es sich an, afrikanische Motive und Farben zu verwenden. Notwendig ist das aber nicht. Bitte keine Löwen, wir wollen nicht mit Disney verwechselt werden. Wichtig ist, dass die Marke sehr modern anmutet. Wir freuen uns auf die Vorschläge!
