Le nom du site internet est composé de deux "zéro" et fait référence à la tendance leet. Les zéro de "l00t" font référence à "w00t" qui permet d'exprimer son intéret en langage leet. Le loot dans un jeu vidéo correspond à un objet aléatoire tombé par terre et pouvant être collecté par le joueur pour augmenter sa puissance.
