The Canadian Federation of Pensioners (CFP) was formed in 2004 in response to concerns by the founding pensioner groups that provincial and federal legislation governing the rights of pensioners during insolvencies provided inadequate protection for the pension promise that had been made to them while they were working and on which they rely today. Today, the CFP directly represents approximately 240,000 retirees through its affiliated retiree associations, and over a million Canadians through the family members who depend on them. The CFP currently has 15 affiliate retiree groups from both provincial and federal jurisdictions, whose members have experienced some of Canada’s most extensive and highest profile restructuring over the last two decades. We are Canada’s largest voice for retirees who rely on workplace defined benefit pensions. The Mission of the CFP is to actively promote the interests of these Canadian pensioners generally and in particular to advocate on behalf of past, present and future Canadian members whose defined benefit workplace pension plans are under attack.

As we represent all Canadians, with both French and English constituents, our new logo must incorporate both english and french elements for both the name and the slogan for our organization
