What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Residents of the Forest Hills, Van Ness, Wakefield, and Tenleytown neighborhoods in upper Northwest Washington, DC. ANC 3F is the local elected body that represents these neighborhoods. They come to our website for information about business before the Commission and to find out about DC city services generally.
We want the site to be clean, functional, uncluttered, and easy to navigate. Tasteful rather than edgy. Modern sans serif typeface (we use Calibri body in our documents). See www.anc2a.org www.anc8b.org and www.anc5d.org for examples. Should incorporate the DC city flag and its colors, red and white, and could also use some patriotic blue as well. However, our neighborhood includes a large national park as well, so we'd be interested in seeing some designs that incorporate nature-themed colors and motifs as well We can incorporate photos from the neighborhood but illustrations shouldn't take up too much space. We want someone landing on the home page to see the most important pieces of information right up front, without having to scroll down. The rebuild should focus primarily on the “desktop” experience but keep mobile/responsive design in mind. We will add responsive design depending on the additional cost. DC Flag logo should appear next to the name and initials. No information should be more than two clicks away from the Home Page.
1. HOME PAGE Home Page should prominently display the most sought-after information (date of next meeting, agenda, links to contact information) without having to scroll down. It should integrate social media streams (Facebook, Twitter) and a way for visitors to sign up for the ANC3F listserv. Main Menu and Sub-Menus should be static on the Home and Subsequent pages, so they’re always in the same place with the same look on every page. The menu should have the following items: HOME / ATTEND A MEETING / REQUEST A GRANT / ISSUES / DOCUMENT ARCHIVE / ABOUT THE ANC / ABOUT THE NEIGHBORHOOD / DC GOVERNMENT LINKS 2. CALENDAR PAGE Default monthly view, with a list view option as well; calendar entries should be clickable to show details (time, location, other info, etc). See www.anc3e.org for a good example. 3. ABOUT PAGE Should have a mix of descriptive text, Commissioner photos and contact informtion, and a map of the district. Should also have links to separate pages for each of the committees and financial documents, and a photo gallery. ○ What it does ○ Who we are / Contact Info ○ SMD Map ○ Bylaws ○ Committees ○ Financial Documents ○ Photo Gallery 4. ARCHIVE PAGE Should have categorized links to various pdf documents, with the most recent year's links showing individually and past years grouped separately. ○ Agendas ○ Minutes ○ Resolutions ○ Livestream Archive [link to the Livestream site] ○ Grants ○ Financial Documents
