The design of the website must be Useful, Intuitive and Beautiful. The focus of the web site should be toward the client who has found our web site. The client is looking for a free dummies book or they want to “Check us out”. One area that provides us ‘credibility’ is the co-branding. The Dummies book is a brand of its own but I am the author. The Certified Public Fund Investment Manager (CPFIM) is a brand of the Association of Public Treasurers of the United States and Canada (APTUSC) however, I wrote the program. The IPhone is a brand as well but we developed the app for yield calculations on bonds.
I want the end user to think and feel when they look at our page that we are a safe place to put their money. An end-user would think, “they wrote the book on public fund investing, they wrote the training for the APTUSC, and they developed the IPhone application, and reporting and accounting software…. I believe I can trust them with our Money”
The home page should look good on every browser. How I get leads is to give a way a free dummies book. This is the websites call to action. So we will need to focus the dummies book somewhere on the front page.
The Dummies Book, Me in front of the dummies book and the CPFIM Logo are important to the front page.
Somewhere on the front page must be a “box” or location that will display stock and bond index quotes. So the DJIA, S&P 500, the 2 year Treasury, 5 year Treasury and the 10 year Treasury. Along with todays date.
