We sell business intelligence systems for sustainable management and consulting services to large companies that are industry leaders. We want our web site to represents who we are: -Experts in supply chain analysis, -Highly innovative, -Trustworthy =Easy to do business with. We have developed technically innovative approach to assessing a company’s supply chain footprint and giving them management reports and metrics in the same financial and organization structure as the normal management reporting. This enables business to incorporate environmental impact information into nearly all business decision making. Target Audience Our target audience is large companies that are industry leaders in sustainability. We don’t have a particular industry focus. The people in these companies want to come to our site and learn quickly what we do. Ideally the website should be readily useable by other audiences including journalists and consultants (who may want more information on the company e.g. following a press release announcing a partnership but lack the technical knowledge),
The homepage Goals 1. Communicate what we do 2. Express our value 3. Our differentiation We can analyze the environmental impact of a supply chaiin really fast....this is a big deal that no one else has really figured out how to do. A supply chain is companies buying from suppliers, who buy from suppliers, who buy from suppliers all the way back to extracting raw materials. These "chains" get really complicated. We model the environmental impact at every step all the way back....how we do it is really cool, almost magic.....anyway a design that captures this compexity could be really good. I uploaded some images to illustrate.... 4. Provide a structure for fresh content updates, in a consistent place on the page. (Customer quotes, new white paper for down load, video, case study) 5. Easily offer 1 or 2 “calls to action” 6. Give succinct decription of who we are We have a first content, but 99 Design doesn't seem to have a facility to provide. Contact us if of interest. General content pages- Solutions, value, about pages All have a the same basic design. These pages behind the home pages ie with tabs marked (Customers, Solutions, Value, etc should have the same look and feel though if a designer can make it so we can customize each just a little on our own while maintaining the theme that would be very desirable.
What to avoid
These are the goals we have for the design: 1. Have a crisper simpler site that communicates what we do, our value , and what sets us apart. We use too many words on our current site, so we know we need to cut that content down and clean it up. 2. Reflect who we are as much as possible: knowledgeable, highly innovative, trustworthy and a pleasure to work with. 3. More effective use of graphics and images is really desirable. we will really favor designers that are good at creating visualizations. We would like to have a longer term agreement with such a person. 4. Have a common look across our website, Twitter, Facebook and a perhaps a BLOG site 5. Move to a CMS where any designated person in the company can post content and keep our content fresh. We like WordPress for this reason, but think it may be too limiting. Your advice will be valuable. 6. Have a more content flexible home page, where we have space for the latest news, the latest video, giveaway or whatever we want. (see comments below about Bain and Sales Force). 7. Be an effective home for our social media conversations. Our Website is where prospects involved in sustainability initiatives visit, learn about us and receive value (free content). 8. We want the Like button, Twitter and LinkedIn links to be accessible and cleanly built into the design.
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. Web page design starts at $599.
