The top 1/2 of the home page has to grab someone's attention. The site gets a lot of hits, but bounce rate is too high. Blues - dark/ light/ highlights and tone on tones that have patterns look more substantive than flat colors. Must have a clear call to action and contact form and info prominently featured. Curious, how you all feel about text icon with email and phone number together? Clear, easy to read fonts: Colors to highlight Gloss effects
I. The current homepage: http://www.phillyinjurylawyer.com/ featured 4 icons below the ambulance picture that was similar to my current inner page: http://www.phillyinjurylawyer.com/philadelphia-car-accident-lawyer.html. My traffic was increasing through our SEO efforts, but after we installed the 4 icons calls/emails dropped. Since nothing else changed, I simply figured this must be it. I like it, but think it may be too much for clients. My current website became a design mishmash due to my input ;[. I have reviewed several attorney sites that I like and one of the key features besides the proverbial contact form is "reasons to chose us". I think these should hit the viewer quickly. 1. Results - Can open to a page with case results 2. Experience - 3. Service - 24/7...etc 4. "We Win or It's Free' - see this page. 5. Phone number, email address and icon to text I think the above information should all load on the top 1/2 of the page so the viewer see it immediately with a clear "call to action". On the part of the page that has to be scrolled down, the text I have must be included for SEO and the blog entries must show at least the first 100 words (Can't be a small box). Another issue that I have is a lot of text which needs to be broken up with pictures or other things - looks plain. II. Inner Page - should convey the same information and frame it as my current innerpages.
What to avoid
Courthouses, Gavels, - Icons
My current website ranks very well for SEO so do not want to change content or function. I think it needs a more professional look that is quickly communicated to the potential client. The top of the page that loads most important - I had something very busy and just removed it. The gray on gray tone in the attached Liz Dick trailer I like as well. My logo has been added but IS NOT REQUIRED TO USE' I also attached a door sign we just had done as I like the blue on silver.
