jandb got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Give us a great design so we can solve your problems!
Check out jandb's Web page design contest…
Comuni-Chiamo is a platform that provides municipalities and citizens with a service which allows them to communicate in order to solve territorial problems faster. To give a practical example, a citizen that wants to report a pot hole will use the website or the Comuni-Chiamo app on his smartphone and will immediately report the problem to municipalities.
we want something original. you can get inspiration from http://www.fring.com/what-is-fring that provides a simple, user friendly and with a nice portfolio of colors. We like also the style/colors/concept of http://www.skype.com/ and http://www.htc.com/www/htcsense/index.html NEW ENTRY! check also the new demo google + !!! https://plus.google.com/up/start/?sw=1&type=st Please don't copy it since the purpose is just to give you a general idea of the style we are looking for.
The logo of the website is already in place and attached in the project. Obviously you have to use that one for the website design in the annex you can find 2 mock ups of the pages, use them for design the pages. 1)home page: the logo is already provided, you will need however to design the set of 9+1 icons. they will have to represent 9 categories that are: street side-walks lighting road signs degradation ( abandoned building, graffiti, noise ) waste water related problems public space (like squares, parks, gardens) public buildings (like schools, libraries) other they icons may change in the future so please keep this part well defined as we can substitute them. as all the concept keep the icons design simple, minimal, intuitive since the target of user is very broad (just like the link to fring that we posted in the following section) The 3 levels of report (that you cab find in the mockup "home.png") explains that in that section once you click the first icon the section will move to the second layer (showing report 2) and the to the third. The fourth section (not in the mockup) will provide a text message stating that the report is been received. Like stated in the mockup you will have also a pop up for the sign up procedure, just like the 99design one UPDATE: you should add under the map (or on the top as you prefer) a box where the user can type the address. 2) for the second page you will see a table with a google map under and a set of icons. For this section the icons should follow the home page design/style. the lines in the table will group a certain amount of sub-information, therefore it will be possible to expand and contract them. In the bottom section keep in the pds file the icons so we can add and delete them since we still don't know the precise number of them Also we will need a button design for the site action (example search button, ok button, cancel button, send button). It's enough only one customizable button and not all text realizations. We don't want: - Overly complicated icon - "Flashy" colors - Complicated stuff - We do not want you to work off of a website template, nor do we want our site to look anything like a website template. How I want people visiting the site to feel: - Wow this is cool! I HAVE to try this service. - Safe, site is clearly not scam. Remember that the mockups represent just the components of the web site but you are free to create what ever you think is more suitable. Remember the task of the site that is reporting and managing reports
Keep it clean and simple but at the same time it has to have appeal. Priority is given to user friendly design. We have a general audience that includes both educated and non-educated people. simplicity is therefore mandatory. REMEMBER: clean, light and simple. !

Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
jandb collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
