We provide practice tests for new drivers about to take their Department of Motor Vehicles written test. These new drivers are typically 15 to 17 years old. OR Practice test for people who already have their drivers license but moved to a new state and need to take that state's written test to transfer their license. In either case, our customers just want to pass the test without wasting a lot of time or making a second trip to the DMV.
Here is one of the most established companies in the market. They sell a variety of products. We only sell practice tests: http://www.idrivesafely.com/ Here is another very established site. I think they are cluttered. http://www.testquestionsandanswers.com/ Here is our competitor with the closest product to ours. Our product can be used on a mobile device and theirs cannot. http://www.dmvcheatsheets.com/
I need a home page and a state specific page. Both will function as a landing page. Their primary purpose is to sell. The differences will be minor. Eventually we will need a mobile version since we are the only company in the market offering practice tests in a mobile version. Initially we will offer Practice Tests for PC's and Mobile devices. Later we will add Motorcycles and CDL's (commercial driver license). Since we are the only company offering mobile, it makes sense to emphasize that feature. We also have click to chat customer support and testimonials. Most competitors only give your money back if you don't pass the DMV test on the first try. I will start by offering a 100%, no questions asked, money back guarantee. We don't really need to offer a lot of DMV related information. Our goal is to sell to the customers who know what they want and to get the others to try a free practice test. Our competitors don't capture email addresses so we won't either. There are a lot of made for AdSense sites out there offering low quality free practice tests so our design must be clean, sharp and credible. We need an edge to stand out from the “corporate” sites and the cluttered “hard sell” sites.
This bid is for the basic design. I will also need artwork for the Practice test pages and for the mobile devices. That is later. For now, let's get a great design.
