Battlestox is almost ready to launch

Games & Recreational
Start-up fantasy trading game Battlestox is almost ready to launch. It will offer an exciting and fun introduction to stock trading without the complications and risk of doing it for real. It’s fun, free and can be played together with friends standalone or using social networks. It should be as fun and easy-to-use as services like Basecamp, Getsatisfaction or Facebook. The focus on the application will be more about playing `games` (online poker style) than the technical aspect of stock trading. How we are different from other fantasy trading sites The aim of Battlestox is less about showing your trading skills and more about playing an interactive game. Real data streams will be available, so that you can follow your friends progress and share your own updates. Aims The aim of the site is so that users can have a great gaming experience that can take place over a longer period of time. Players will be encouraged to add friends and to interact with one another like with other social media platforms.
Nope, launch in the next coming months
Clean, basic design with good interface. We tend to like basecamp-like designs, but for the landing page we do need a more activating design. Also think social, the game is mostly about having fun and playing a game together with your friends.
We are looking for a design for our landing page at battlestox.com. The wireframe for the landing page is included as part of this brief. Please feel free to be as creative as you would like, but make sure all the elements are in there. Also make sure the elements which are "above fold" now stay above fold in the design. The main focus of the design is the main upper section (Stock up; battle it out) and its background. We would like something where the text is still clear and a background image behind the text represents the concept of the site. This could be as simple as a screenshot, but also something creative. We'll leave it up to you you to come up with ideas for this. We are open to stock photography as well. We would like the call to action "sign up" to stand out visually. Also included are some raw designs and some thumbnails of the game itself. You are free to use these in the design for the preview boxes. Also please have a good look at these designs for inspiration. The design for the landing page should have a similar "feel" to it, but can ofcourse be different, seeing that it does have a different function. Last we've included the logo design in .eps. Please use the top left as the logo. Also try to reuse the colours of the logo in the design. Extra remark: please make sure the width of the design is in line with the other pages. This is 960 pixels. Next to that, we would like to keep the upper bar (languages in the original design) and the lower bar (contact, advertising, etc) as in the original design. NOTE: the top right "sign in" section is a drop down with username, password and sign in. For any questions, please let us know. I hope everyone enjoys this contest and that we will get some designs we can use for the launch! Thanks guys!
