My dept has approved the idea of station shirts. My station is FCFD 35. Truck 35 is our appratus assigment. we want to express some company pride while off duty and would like to have some shirts made.
The traditional firefighter maltese cross is a great backround. We are thinking some thing more traditional looking. Something to express 155 years of Folsom fire tradition. Our local mascot is a Bulldog. We like the idea of incorperating a pissed off macho bulldog wearing an old school leather helmet and weilding one of the following tools. Flat head axe, halligan bar, or a rippin chainsaw. The helmet sheild that dog wears should represent Truck 35, or 35 Truck. Simple is good. Excessives flames are not necessary. Dog can be wearing turnout bottoms, but no top. He can have a shoulder tat but nothing cheesy. If he's smoking a stogie, it better be a fat one. Script writing, bold old english or wild western influence. There is a huge history of gold mining in this geographical location, so a gold pan full of nuggets could represent something unique.
Also the idea of a company motto is appealing.
"Rehab is for quitters..."
"All in, all out, all the time"
Colors are flexible. Black shirt with a red cross and you fill in the rest! red shirt with black cross... or any variation with a white shirt.
