Art & Design
We are looking to create a range of greetings cards to start selling as a small business.
What's your vision?
At this stage, we are looking for a designer to create 3 greeting card designs for us. We really like the style of Edward Monkton cards, childish pictures and text, and the simplicity of black line drawings with bold, bright colours. Simple, fun and with a unique twist that brands them as 'I Say' cards. Things like ... http://rlv.zcache.co.uk/stick_figure_water_skiing_tshirts_and_gifts_postcard-p239823939882324748z8iat_400.jpg http://caretoride.giving.officelive.com/images/girl5-stick-figure_bigger.jpg http://www.adventuresoflittlec.com/sites/default/files/drawinginpark.jpg ... are right up our alley. The cards should look like they are part of a set and if we get a design we like, then we will be looking for the same 'branding' to be carried out across further designs. We are keen for speech bubbles and simple drawings. Perhaps even the cards all featuring the same characters could work? We would like a design just for the front of the card that we could then use across a range of products, such as postcards, mugs, etc. Designs should be 1300 x 900 pixels and could be either portrait or landscape. The text for the front of the three cards is as follows: 1. They say, "Laughter is the best medicine." I say, "No doubt cough syrup will help too. Get better soon!" 2. They say, "Break a Leg!" I say, "Really, that would actually suck. So good luck instead!" 3. They say, "Here is a horseshoe for good luck." I say, "Why do you need a horse shoe for good luck? Your shoes are just fine. Very lucky, in fact. Except those smelly brown ones."
The cards are meant to be quirky and fun with a little bit of wry humour thrown in. We are aiming for the 15-30 sort of age group and probably women (although not exclusively). Play up the cute and humour and you'll be on track!

SJ Harris collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
