The illustration shows a figure, which hopefully looks genderless, opening the curtain and walking towards the "stage" where he or she will make a speech.
The curtain represents a wall of obstacles that everyone who is not comfortable speaking in front of people have. However the book, "Command the Stage", on the chair showed him how to deliver speeches, and gave him the confidence to finally get out of his or her comfort zone and out onto the stage.
