We manufacture and sell the "Screed Grip", which makes the process of smoothing concrete more efficient and easier on the body of the worker. The product is a steel sleeve that is ergonomically designed to allow workers to draw the board across the surface of the concrete , improving the grip and thus the performance of the worker.
What's your vision?
I am looking for a clean, professional brochure with visual appeal. I have provided potential text below for the brochure, as well as images that can be used. I ran a logo contest this week, and I have selected this logo: http://99designs.com/logo-design/contests/create-next-logo-screed-grip-115760/entries/69. The file is attached, and I can provide it in a different format if need be. This product is not yet in full production. We are currently doing due diligence on the tool, deciding if and how to market it. The brochure will play a role in this decision as we attend a concrete trade show next week and receive feedback from potential buyers. Since attendees will likely just take a brief look at the brochure, it needs to be simple yet impressive, incorporating descriptive text and eye-catching colors and images. Text (or some variation of this if you are good with words). I would like the opportunity to adjust the text during the design process: Potential slogans: "Get a better grip on concrete leveling" "More grip. Less work." Screed Grip: The ergonomic grip that reduces worker fatigue and increases effectiveness while smoothing poured concrete. The product in "patent pending", so please add that text to the brochure. Somewhere in small text: "A product of Auburn University's Building Science and Industrial Design program" The Screed Grip is a metal attachment that easily slips onto a piece of wood, improving the grip and thus the performance of the worker. The Screed Grip consists of a steel sleeve that is ergonomically designed to allow workers to draw the board across the surface of the concrete. The product has potential applications for construction professionals and do-it-your-selfers alike. Advantages: • Ergonomic design improves grip, increasing worker effectiveness and reducing arm and hand fatigue. • Spikes on interior of grip provide secure attachment to a standard screed board while still allowing for easy installation and removal from the board. • Stainless steel construction provides strength and corrosion resistance. • Simple design allows for easy clean-up and reuse. • Since the 2x4 can be replaced as needed, this solution is more cost effective than a screed made completely of metal. PROBLEM: Traditionally, screeds are nothing more than 2 x4̍ boards used to smooth concrete after it has been poured (such as for a sidewalk or driveway). Holding and maneuvering these boards can be hard on a worker's hands, making the job tiring and inefficient. It is ergonomically challenging for a worker to hold the board and draw it across the surface of the concrete. Repetitive stress injuries are common as a result of screeding. I think a one page pamphlet (possibly front and back) will work best for this project. The target audience is the owners of construction companies, as well as workers who will be using the tool--mostly men 20s - 60s.
