Quadica got their new postcard, flyer or print by running a design contest:
Postcard design announcing new high brightness LED assembly
Check out Quadica's Postcard, flyer or print contest…
We produce and sell high power, high brightness LED components that are used in flashlights, commercial/residential lighting products and specialty lighting applications by small/medium sized manufacturers, researchers and electronic hobbyists. We sell internationally direct to the user through our website.
What's your vision?
Looking for a standard sized postcard design (full color back and front) to announce the release of a new LED lighting component called the Rebel Star/O that can be used to replace an older, obsolete component called the Luxeon Star/O. The objective is to get the recipient to come to our website for more information and to order this new part. The obsolete component was very popular with small and medium manufacturers of lighting products, who are now looking for an alternative now that they are no longer able to get this older part. Need to clearly communicate that the Rebel Star/O LED assembly is: * A near 100% compatible drop in replacement for the original Luxeon Star/O * Uses the latest Rebel LED technology * Is available in all colors * Has a higher lumens per watt output * Is more thermally efficient * Can be powered using existing power drivers * Is available to order now A special offer 20% discount code needs to be included on the post card with a statement that this discount is only available to people who are getting the postcard. The URL that will be used on the postcard is SR-12.COM, which is also the series part number. The target customer will be electronic technicians, engineers and hobbyists who understand the technology, so just need to focus on the features/benefits and that the replacement is available to order now. I am including a number of different graphics (Photoshop) of both the older component and the new part that is replacing it. The designer is free to select whatever graphics he feels would work best in the design. More information about the part we are promoting can be found at sr-12.com
We do not have a formal logo, but I have provided graphical elements (Luxeon Graphics.zip) that are used to create our name. Feel free to integrate these into your design if you think they will help. Note that the font used for the name is Adobe Centaur MT Regular. If you do not have this font, I can provide a rendered version in whatever size you may need. We have some graphic elements that we are already using in our datasheets that may be helpful with the design. I have attached a Photoshop file with these elements as well as a copy of one of our datasheets to show how we currently use this graphic. So far the designs that have been submitted are interesting, however I suspect that some of them are just variations of an existing template. We would prefer more original work, or at the very least, heavily reworked templates. Don't feel constrained to include all of the feature points on the front of the card. We would prefer to see a simple, lightweight design with just a couple of feature points if necessary, rather than trying to cram everything onto the front. NOTE ABOUT STAR RATINGS The star ratings I am assigning are based on my on opinion of the design. At the conclusion of the project all designs that have not been eliminated will be reviewed by other people here and a selection made. So just because your design may not have many stars, does not mean it is not a contender.
