We need a set of different designs to use for our game called Monkey Master. The Monkey Master is the number one monkey in town. He rolls into work driving a Ferrari and wears expensive suits and gold watches. All was going well for him, until one day all the corporate monkeys who worked for him decided to rebel and try to take his place at the top. With the help of a hired team of security, you must stop the monkeys from climbing their corporate ladders and infiltrating your building. Overall ‘tone’ of the design: While there should be an element of childish ‘cartoonyness’ to the app, it shouldn’t go too overboard and appear like it’s only meant for 5 year-olds either. In the attachments you will find an image of Donkey & Diddy Kong, and we like this kind of style which is universally appealing for a lot of ages. We don’t want 3D graphics though! It definitely needs to be 2D. You can look up 2D examples of Donkey Kong to get a better kind of idea of what we mean. A design we are enamoured with is the one of Angry Birds, this is the kind of design we would like for the characters, but with bigger legs and arms than the angry birds. What we are trying to say is the body proportions should be a little more realistic, but at the same time don’t feel THAT constrained by reality. It has to be really fun to look at and facial expressions are a big seller for us. For the first round we just want to see how you would design the 3 primary characters: Characters (Monkey Master) The monkey at the top of the food chain. He is a more Diddy Kong sized monkey dressed in an expensive suit and walking around with a walkie-talkie to command the gorillas. He should be quite scrawny in nature and look like the type who needs security to do his dirty work for him. ‘ (Security Gorillas) These are the ones in the building and knocking down the ladders. They should look pretty mean and like they do a lot of weightlifting and steroids. They should also be dressed like typical kind of security guys that follow celebrities around, with plain but smart black and white suits, and an earpiece. Feel free to add accessories (gold chains etc) that you feel might make them look cooler. (Corporate Monkeys) The corporate monkeys should be scrawnier types of monkeys, and dressed in different kinds of work clothes. Think to yourself more plain and low cost like something you might see the characters in ‘Dilbert’ wear.
In the following round we will need: An App Icon The game menu The game setting (only 1) The individual character actions (very simple) Some awards the user gets if they achieve a certain set of points We are willing to discuss adding on a little extra in terms of the payment if we can find the designer who nails what we are looking for.
