Will Despard got their new app design by running a design contest:
Design an exciting new 4 page mobile social and dating App

Bar & Nightclub
Our App is a meeting/dating aid. The home screen is an interactive map where other users profile pictures appear. If a user sees an individual they want to know more about (sitting on the other side of a bar or library, lets say) they can look on on their map, click on the individual and it will bring up their profile page. The profile page will have the individuals information and interests etc. If the user finds that they have interests in common then the user can strike up conversation.
I want it to be very simple but very fun and interactive. Think the simplicity and ease of use of uber or snapchat, and the fun, playful, colourful and aesthetic look of tinder. Please be prepared to speak over the phone to go into more detail about this!
1. Sign-Up Screen 2. Users Profile Screen 3. Home/Map Screen 4. Profile Screen Work Flow: To begin, the user will sign up with their facebook (or email) information on the sign up/sign in screen (SCREEN 1). Then they will directed to their profile page to complete their information, add pictures etc (SCREEN 2). Once complete, the user will be directed to the home/map screen (SCREEN 3). This screen is where they can see other peoples profile pictures moving around on their map. When the user clicks on a moving profile picture they will be directed to that persons profile page (SCREEN 4). Screen Details: SCREEN 1 - A simple sign up/sign in page SCREEN 2 - The users profile page. Will include information like name, age, home, education, profession, interests, relationship status, sexuality, faith etc, a short paragraph about that person, and a profile picture. SCREEN 3 - Home/Map screen. Will be a simple interactive map (like uber or imaps) with an adjustable radius of between 50 - 5 metres. The centre of the map will represent the users phone with an arrow pointing in the direction the user is facing (again, like imaps). Other users profile pictures will be floating around the map (provided that other users are in the users radius). Profiles will have distinctive halos if the user is friends/has friends in common with that person. These profile pictures can be clicked on at any time bringing up that users profile page. Also, above the map there will be a button leading the user directly to their own profile page which can be edited at any time. SCREEN 4 - Profile page. When a profile picture has been selected on the map the profile page will appear. The profile page will include all of the individuals information (name, age, home, education, profession, interests, relationship status, sexuality, faith etc, a short paragraph about that person, and a profile picture). It will also include any friends in common the user has with the individual (on facebook). Finally, there will be a drop down menu at the bottom of each profile where the user can rate the individual he just met using our app (rating on approachable, friendly, interesting, fun - all out of 5). At the top of each profile their will be an overall rating out of 5 which is an average of all the rating that person has received from other users.

It all began with a design brief.

Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
Will Despard collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Absolutely love the design! We were definitely on the same wavelength when it came to ideas. Love the designer’s passion and dedication. Only thing I would suggest is to be mindful of deadlines.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
