Thank you for participating in our logo design contest.
The word ‘savage’ can be used in a variety of ways. A harsh or irreverent joke or playful insult might earn the declaration “savage!!”, from friend. An ancient Celtic, Gaulic, or Nordic hunter, or lumberjack might also be considered ‘savage’. At the same time, wild animals such as Warthogs, Wolverines or Honey Badgers have a savage, but at the same time comedic and unique element to them. The logo does not necessarily need to have these specific images. But, our brand can embrace all of these meanings of the word 'savage' and some imagery or artistic embellishment that promotes these meanings would be appropriate. In our facility, and in our marketing, we will have images of these kind.
When designing a logo for this competition, I would encourage you to be BOLD. A ‘Savage’ company should have a savage logo, which means it should not be too safe or careful in its approach.
Please keep in mind the following emotions that we would like to have conveyed in the logo:
- Savage / primal
Please consider the following:
- The logo should probably include an axe in the imagery.
- The logo should include the name of the company “Savage Axe Throwing”. The text can be part of the image, in the image or below it etc.
- Please do not include a background texture because we will not be able to use this easily on t-shirts, business cards, or walls.
If you would like to try a logo that does not follow these suggestions, you can feel free to write me a message with the concept that you would like to try before you begin your work. Or you could present a basic initial sketch. This may save you some time.
