dalemcconkey got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Sleek Logo Needed for New Christian Publisher
Check out dalemcconkey's Logo design contest…
We will sell self-published religious books, some academic/educational, some more personal/devotional, and some based on classic writings of historic theologians. Our target audience is college-educated, thoughtful, Mainline Christians, mostly from the United Methodist Church.
If you look at the attached image, there are three features that I would like to be incorporated into the logo: 1. The letters "GP" that form a circle (globe) 2. A Christian cross that is created from the inside of the circle formed by the "GP." 3. Some subtle features that imply that the circle is a globe (not evident from the image). Some additional thoughts: A. The image provided is a very basic mock-up. I am hoping that all three of the above features are much more evident than the image indicates. B. Of the three features above, I want the "GP" to be the most prominent (and thus probably thicker lines than depicted in my mock-up), the cross to be modest, and the global aspect to be the most subtle (and thus least important). C. The color scheme is one way to capture the global aspect of the company name, though I am ambivalent about a blue and green logo. I am certainly open to other subdued ways to communicate a globe, but I don't want an actual globe. D. The image shows the company name, "Global Parish Press," encircling the logo. This is one option that I would like to have, but I am hoping that the winning logo will provide various ways to present the name with the logo (above, below, beside, etc.), including no name at all. E. My primary goal is to have a logo that is VERY CLEAN, SLEEK, AND RELATIVELY SIMPLE. Other adjectives that come to mind are modern and mature/classy. F. I want the logo to work both as a color design and in black & white. Thanks!
