Cammy L got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Re-design a traditional farming logo
Check out Cammy L's Logo design contest…
We are a multi-generational family run farm producing leafy greens, a wide array of veggies, specialty greens, herbs and plant starts for local markets. Our primary focus is on quality. We also produce many poultry products, chicken turkey and eggs, all are GMO-Free, Soy-Free and Free Range, the eggs are also Omega 3 enhanced. Target audience is local people, predominantly women, who are concerned about their own health, and their families health. Many view shopping at farmer's markets as altruistic. It is a Father (Barry)-Son (James) partnership, with both their wives involved, (all last name Lockwood). The two smallest Lockwoods, (age 1 and 2), enjoy farming as well. The Lockwood family immigrated from England. Lockwoods have been farming for well over 250yrs.
Logo types to explore
We really like the logo's we are already using, however we need them to be refined and have the ability to blow them up to decal a trailer and print on a banner. We would like 3 logos, one sepia tones with red, one colour, and one that can work well horizontally. We are open to new designs but want to keep the working horse and cart. The general feel we want to bring through strong, English, traditional, hard working, farming. Some other words that came up: rustic, peasant-ish, stability, history, healthy, responsibly grown, local. The difficulty is marrying 'strong', 'traditional', and 'history', with 'healthy' 'colourful', 'growing'. This is where we felt your creative mind needed to take over. The women prefer the black/white/red logo, and the men prefer the colour one. Women are our primary customers. Specific modifications we'd like for the current logo: Change the horse to be looking ahead (profile) instead of to the side. Change the lettering to something 'traditional English' yet not ornate. No triangle in the O's. The veggies also need to be re-worked in some way, but that needs a creative mind that we don't have. We will need more design work in the future, we hope that we can build a relationship with a designer and continue to work with you as we grow our farm.
