Revsuephillips got their new logo design by running a design contest:
New logo wanted for UUFund
Check out Revsuephillips's Logo design contest…
UUFund will be a crowd funding site through which people can follow, share, or fund progressive Unitarian Universalist ministries. Projects will run the gamut from youth social justice trips, to handicap accessibility projects for church buildings, to church startups. UUFund itself is a project affiliated with the Unitarian Universalist denomination (www.uua.org).
Logo types to explore
The uploaded file contains logo designs that we considered and set aside. We are interested in using a shade of blue, but the one in these designs is too dead and dark. The favorite of these logos by far is the one with UU (flame) Fund on the lower right. We are trying to make our site evocative of the UUA brand logo (a blue flaming chalice), but not directly. That logo appears on the www.uua.org website if you want to have a look. This site will be used to distribute grants as well as crowd funding donations from individuals. The site will be open to people across the US. We also need to create button logos for the site that look consistent using color, font, or design elements. These button logos will be for the "Follow" "Share" and "Fund" functions of the site. We are trying to attract a younger, more dynamic audience but the site has to be accessible to GenXers and Baby Boomers who predominate in our congregations. The people who will be posting projects are likely to skew younger (25-40?), but the people using the site are likely to skew older (35-55?). Unitarian Universalists are a liberal religion with a long history of progressive social justice work. Think abolition, anti-war protests, gay rights, women's ordination. In the US our faith was born in New England -- all those white-steepled churches on colonial town greens are ours. But our churches look a lot different elsewhere in the country. This crowdfunding site is one of the most cutting edge things we are trying -- we'd like it be upbeat, exciting, forward-looking, and cool. Piece of cake, right??
