The Lucky Ones Come to Us
Animal & Pet
We are a no-kill animal shelter whose mission is to provide adoption/rescue services and outreach programs that advance the welfare of companion animals, serve our community, and make a positive impact on pet overpopulation. Our target audience for education and service are residents of Scituate Massachusetts and surrounding towns on the South Shore of Massachusetts. For adoption, our target audience is anywhere within driving distance of Scituate, Massachusetts (including Western Massachusetts and other New England states)
Logo types to explore
We have attached a PDF file with two pages - the first shows our current logo and the second shows our crude mark-up of what we envision. We like the dog in our current logo but want to remove the hobo pack from his mouth and simplify the lines. The cat needs to be simplified. The animals should appear animated and happy (for the dog the raised paw and snout make him seem happy, a slightly upright tail rather than a droopy tail would make him seem happier). We want to eliminate the building from the logo and replace it with a representation of a lighthouse (not a specific lighthouse as we do not want to identify with one area to the exclusion of another via a symbol). For the text part of the logo we want to eliminate the word "the" and to change the focus from the word "Shelter" to the word “animal” (the current logo deemphasizes "animal" by having it in lower case as opposed to the upper case "shelter"). We would like our slogan to appear beneath the text portion of the logo, preferably on one line (so in a smaller font). The second page of the PDF we have attached shows our rough sketch of what we had envisioned, minus the cat and the slogan. The logo needs to be simple enough to reproduce well on envelopes, business cards, photocopies forms and handouts, etc. We envision two versions of the logo, one with the picture, text and slogan and one with just the text and slogan. Thank you so much for helping us!
