We would love something in the logo that signifies movement - as in, a stream or river of life (Whoever believes in me, as the scriptures teach, rivers of living water will flow from within them. John 7:38). We see this current as a refreshing, life-giving alternative, a perspective on life that contrasts with the rat race that many people feel swept up by here in the Silicon Valley, where life is work and work is life.
We would also love to see designs that represent community, authentic relationship, people coming together. Often the social networks originating here in the Silicon Valley lead to empty online engagement that can leave us feeling more lonely. Current SV offers real relationships in our gatherings, both formal and informal, throughout the week. It's an opportunity to be excited for each other, mourn together, and draw encouragement and support from one another as we live life together. We also want these awesome relationships to be open to others, so it'd be great if the logo signified a sense of relationships that are welcoming and inclusive.
Given that we don't have the word "church" in our name, we'd like to have some relevant way to signify we are about Jesus, but subtle enough that the logo can still be a conversation piece...i.e. "what's Current SV about?" to those that might not be Christian.
For an idea of what's happening around us where we're located, see logos for airbnb, google, etc. We will want to use this logo on business cards, communications, website, social media, and especially t-shirts. A variety of treatments akin to a style guide appreciated.
