I found Gandhen understood the brief correctly. It was clear that he had read all the attached documents and regularly read updates provided by me.

How Kumakore started their logo design journey
Who are you known as?
What’s your company slogan?
COMPLETELY OPTIONAL - 99% of the contest will be judged on the logo because I won't want it incorporated all the time, but at times I will want a slogan that says "Join the kore" or "Make your move". However, these slogans need not be integrated at this time, but if they are, it would be nice to see how they could be seen underneath the main logo.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We make asynchronous mobile games in the same vein as "Words With Friends" or "Draw Something". We want to make games that are fun for people of all ages, and most importantly we want to promote the idea that people can and and should join our network of users, i.e. our "kore". Kuma is japanese for "bear". We want people to join our social network and we were originally kumacore, But eventually decided we liked the repetition of letters, and went with kumakore. Right now, we are looking for a simple look for the actual text of kumakore, but we would also want something memorable for the logo part without the words. For example, the logo for facebook with an "f" is very well known to users to be "facebook" because all the coloring and font matches. Right now I am thinking kumakore should also be known as "kk" but also realize that it's one "k" away from something horrible. So, if there are designs with a single "k" as well, I'd consider it but even facebook is known as "fb" and not simply "f". Ideally, I want to be able to have a "kk" logo be able to be extracted and recognizable, much like how the "Y" in yahoo can be extracted from yahoo!. And, if the logo can somehow incorporate a bear then that would be great. The bear should be something like a cute since we are a game company. Lately I'm thinking it should be like a polar bear or a brown bear like rillakkuma. I don't want a panda bear.
If you also see the example logos below you have "6wave lolapps", which has its own logo but then when it's on an app icon, they are able to take part of the logo and shrink it down to be still recognizable.
