We would like a clean, smooth, and professional-looking logo design. We're okay with any type of logo -- iconic/symbolic, logotype/wordmark, or combination. If you are thinking of submitting an iconic/symbolic entry, please see the sample "head" logo below.
The following are specific samples of the logos that we like, either because of the font used or the theme (or both). The fonts used for these logos are identified here. These are the fonts that we like. Please use the same or similar fonts.
Xanga: I like the boxes in Xanga's design. When applied to our business, it denotes change (for example, from a bad document to a great document) and projects a dynamic image.
Skype: We like this design because it's simple and 2.0ish at the same time. But we don't want to look like Skype, so maybe change the outline into something else or remove the outline a put a symbol/icon on top or next to the company name.
9rules: Powerful, we think, plus a nice symbol/icon. Nice colors, too.
ModenaPanel: This was an entry for another logo contest here. We like the clean-looking M and P bars, and font used for the company name. Please try to apply the same design concept (left version) to our logo. I think the font used is either Myriad or Frutiger.
Zaable: Another entry for a SitePoint contest. Very 2.0ish, but we'll need a different symbol/icon. White background please.
"Head" Idea for Symbol/Icon
This is an addition to the original design brief. If you can come up with a similar (or very similar) "head" design, it would be great. You can use the same rolled paper head concept or come up with your own.
I'm thinking that if the head design is great, we probably won't need a complicated logotype. We'll probably just need a nice font type for the company name.
I scanned this from a logo book earlier, because I couldn't find a copy of the logo online.
