cjohnsons got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Legal Cannabis Company needs edgy Brand Logo
Check out cjohnsons's Logo design contest…
Bar & Nightclub
We are a top legal cannabis company in Washington state. We have 10 existing brands. This new brand "Gemstoned" will be for higher end products ("gem" referring to THC crystals), but we want to avoid an overly corporate or stuffy design. For target audience think mid-20's males. Fringe culture. We like crazy and off the wall design ideas (one of our brand logos is a creeper van). Because it's a cannabis company, our state has strict laws on the logo. One being how many colors we can use, but also absolutely no cartoon characters or cute animals or any marketing that can be construed as appealing to kids. When I hear "Gemstoned" I think of a violent smashing action on a gem, perhaps with a 9lb hammer. Attached one idea we had but are open to improvements on it, or something new from scratch. Typically, the crazier the better. We try to avoid greens because they are becoming too cliche for cannabis.
Other color requirements
Background can only be 1 color, either black (101820), gray (5b6670), or white. Logo can contain black (101820), gray (5b6670) and white, in addition it may have at most 3 of the following 12 colors: red (e52100), golden yellow (ffa400), lemon yellow (feda24), blue (0033a0), dark blue (00205b), teal (008476), silver (85888b), pear green (b5bd00), fern green (74aa50), tan (b9975b), caramel (b56300), and cream (f1e6b2)
Here is one idea we had (picture attached). The guy is almost a little too cartoony though, so he may not get approved. But we like the color scheme of black, white, gray and yellow.
