Design Brief - Please review carefully:
Our services / products:
We're an ethics first, locally sourced coffee shop and bakery that offers everything from fresh bread and unique cuisine to hot coffees and gelato.
Long Term Company Goals
expand to all neighborhoods in the city, and become a hub in each of those communities
to create an image/brand that people can identify themselves with
We want a logo because..
we want an easily recognized identity
We are different from competitors in these ways:
Starbucks – We offer organic, fair trade, locally roasted coffee. We have more dessert / lunch options
Goji's / Yeh! We're local. Our Gelato is handmade in small batches. We also have coffee/tea, lunch and baked goods.
Davids Tea – We have selection of dessert/coffee/lunch; and also seating space. We're local.
But what REALLY makes us standout?:
We are in this business to build a community. Humani-T Cafe is the hub and heart of the neighborhood. We regularly host open mic nights, book launches, meetings, and fundraisers. We give out free Gelato in support of a charity once a year, and we treat every customer like a guest in our own home. Humani-T Cafe stands for community building, love, fellowship, and brotherhood.
Target customers age range: Women, 18-35.
Potential images of logo:
Something that represents nature, earth or happiness. We want the logo to be abstract, something that doesn't necessarily have a direct relation to the business but more to our overall vision around being a home away from home or helping the community as a central hub.
Simple, Fun, Modern, Inspiring
Feeling conveyed by logo: Happiness
We like straight lined fonts but are open to various approaches that aren't scripted. The focus of the logo should be on Humani-T with Cafe as a sub-font that could be interchangable with other words like "Bakery" or "Catering"
Where will logo be used:
Signage, menus, apparel, ads, to go cups, napkins, tumblers, coffee
Primarily be used:
Signage, to go cups, coffee sleeves
Logos that appeal to us, and why:
Starbucks logo: Because you could take that logo, and without writing 'Starbucks Coffee' on it, you automatically know what brand it represents
Fresh Restaurants logo: Clean, modern, and simple
River City Gift Co logo: Able to fit their three focuses 'tea, coffee, chocolate' into one logo without making it look cluttered
DavidsTea Logo: Modern, clean, and typography is so good that it doesn't need an image attached to it.
