This is for a third person shooter puzzle game that will be released on PC and consoles. The title is: Hero Syndrome. The game is similar to Portal in that it is a puzzle game, but is more combat focused and is a third person shooter. The main mechanic of the game is shooting weapons and building walls to navigate through levels and protect from enemies.
It is the year 2168. After a century of humanity slowly recovering from near total environmental disaster due to climate change, things are just beginning to settle down. Meanwhile, the Martian colony Ares, founded 42 years earlier as part of one nation’s desperate ploy to make humanity a two-planet species, is in trouble.
Normally self-sufficient, the Ares colony is under siege by an emergent AI that has seized control of many of the base’s systems and most of its construction droids. Now hundreds of colonists are in mortal danger as the AI mindlessly lashes out at anything biological.
Although there is no ship that can reach the colony quickly enough to do much good, there are still those on Earth who are trying to help. They believe they can upload their own AI into the unaffected, humanoid construction droids, and that one or more of those droids might be able to save the remaining colonists. So they are frantically running simulations with makeshift AI code, trying to teach it how to do what it would need to do in order to destroy the hostile droids and save the colonists.
The scientists are tired and they are running out of time. And their test continues to fail, over and over. The AI must be intelligent enough to independently react to changing circumstances, balancing risk and making split-second decisions. It must have a self-preservation instinct as strong as any person. At the same time, it must be willing to sacrifice itself when necessary.
It is this last point that has been the problem.
During previous test runs, the AI that were given the chance to sacrifice themselves would be increasingly unwilling to do so as they became more experienced and more successful at self-preservation. The conditioning of “first survive this, now survive that” becomes almost unbreakable at a certain point.
The scientists have run the test over and over again, and seem stuck. And now, time has almost run out. They are on their last run... their final chance to succeed and save all those people.
the gameplay is that of the actual AI simulation they are running. The player plays as the droid that they are testing in a simulation.
The environment is much like Tron in that a lot of it is neon lighting.
I've added pictures of the environment so you can see what type of design the logo should match.
I would like the letters printed in a sci fi way, and a clever logo of some sort.
