A "farmer fish" character!

Aquaponic Farms ---------- Fresh - Healthy - Local
We sell vegetables (lettuce, herbs, greens) raised through the symbiotic, sustainable, organic process of Aquaponics (i.e. fish waste used as nutrients).
Logo types to explore
Beyond using the logo for our local operation (the label for the lettuce, herbs, greens, fish, etc. sold to consumers), we want it to appeal to people who simply like the idea of aquaponics (green, sustainable farming, health/nutrition, etc.) as well as those who have "hobby farms" and are passionate about using aquaponics to grow their own food. We plan to market the brand to these people (merchandising of t-shirts, hats, mugs, etc.) and so want the logo to appeal to them as something that represents their own set-up, not just our company. If you look at the aquaponics logos that are currently out there, most include a theme that combines a fish with a leaf (which correctly represents the relationship between them). Our logo requires something like this as well. However, we want it to me catchy, fun, even whimsical... again, as a way to make it desirable for people to wear/display in representing their own aquaponic system. One thought is to create fish character (with personality, perhaps wearing a cowboy/farmer's hat, etc.) to use as the central focus/identity of our brand. However, as the bulk of our product is not fish... lettuce, greens, etc. need to be obvious and represented as well. This could be done in different ways - for example: - A close up on the fish character's head (should/profile shot), friendly expression on his face, stereotypical straw of wheat sticking out of his mouth, cradling several heads of lettuce in his arms (fins), etc. - The fish sitting on a tractor, set within a larger backdrop where he is plowing his fields. Perhaps some lettuce heads used in the foreground to encircle and frame the picture. All of that said, we are also open to any/all other different ideas that capture the spirit of aquaponics with strong appeal to those that passionate about it.
