vastmtn got their new logo design by running a design contest:

The scale of environmental and social justice issues calls for increased collaboration through people power and resources. Our model of doing this work is unique. Instead of working apart from the many organizations in these fields, we exist to support them. This model emerges out of a breadth of experience in the environmental movement and seeing that field-based responses must be scaled up. The purpose of our website where the logo will be displayed is not to provide information to the general public. This site exists as a way to access resources for individuals and groups working on the ground in the environmental and social justice movements. Dyspatch has multiple functions, serving the environmental and social justice communities, but each represents a direct field-based approach Dyspatch specializes in supporting field work only. We support on-the-ground efforts in these ways: Rapid response assessment Logistics and operational support Material and equipment support Media support Legal support Financial support Research and Investigation Event coordination Currently, Dyspatch operates primarily in the Western United States and Canada, but our organization has close contact with national and international organizations.
Logo types to explore
A summary of what we do: "Dyspatch works at the interface between the most pressing environmental and social issues of our time and the most direct field-based responses." Our website: www.dyspatch.org (login: "jasper2015") Check out our website to see its overall theme. We would like our logo to be some version of a dead tree in black and white with our name, "Dyspatch". The tree could be the "Y" in "Dyspatch" or the tree could come to the left of the word. Other design concepts are welcome. See examples.
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. Logo design starts at $299.
