Design a logo for the world's most engaging educational game

Prodigy

Prodigy is an online education game for kids from grades 1 - 8. The game is fantasy themed, where each student can create a wizard, battle monsters, collect pets, and learn spells as they progress through the educational content.

We also offer an online suite of tools for teachers, where they can monitor their students' progress and control what educational content they encounter in the game.

The logo should have a flat design, and consist of a mascot beside the word Prodigy. The mascot should be distinctive and communicate "magical" and "fun".

I have included some sketches to be used as references for the mascot, though you can change them if needed. As a completed reference, I like the new flat Duolingo mascot, which I've also included.

In general, I'm looking for a clean, simple, and easily recognizable mascot to go along with our brand name. Since most of our game revolves around pets, I've also included two additional files:
1) The icons for all of our pets in Prodigy
2) A sample logo (Pika), where a simplified version of Pikachu is used along with a word. Please note: the word "Pika" in this logo is not in the style that we're looking for.
The vast majority of the sample pet icons are too busy to be used in a proper logo, so they should be simplified as needed.

The font should be clean and readable, but not boring.

We like the look of a primary colour (like blue or green), with an accent colour.

You can take liberties with these requirements if it works better for your design.
