Metro Community Church is a contemporary, multi-ethnic church based in Englewood, NJ - located about 7 miles outside of New York City.
A self-proclaimed, "church for the misfits," Metro is a church that welcomes people from all walks and stages of life and faith - providing a safe place for people to encounter Jesus, and to experience life-transformation within the context of community.
Key traits of our church include:
Authenticity - at Metro, we encourage people to take off their masks, embrace their real self - including their weaknesses and brokenness - and allow Jesus to come in and restore them to their fullest self.
Community - we recognize that we can't do life alone, and so we strive to foster deep, authentic relationships among our growing community of misfits.
Diversity - diversity is a beautiful thing and we welcome all people from all cultural and religious backgrounds.
Relevance - we aim to be culturally relevant, and so we place an emphasis on the arts, media and diverse music - the language of our culture!
Social justice - we have a passion for social justice and are committed to responding to the needs of the hurting and disenfranchised in our communities - the least, the last and the lost.
Spiritual ownership - we must take ownership of our faith, but spirituality also includes taking ownership of our emotional and physical health.
Transformation - traditionally our one-word vision statement, we want to see people's lives, marriages, families and communities positively transformed as a result of encountering the risen Jesus.
