Canyon Hills Friends Church (Canyon Hills, for short) is a large Christian church based in the suburbs of Southern California. The church is home to men and women of all ages, from trendy millennials to old-fashioned adults.

Canyon Hills’ existing logo (Canyon-Hills-Logo.jpg) is a simple black and white design that features a smooth black wave. This wave represents the landscape surrounding Canyon Hills – the church lies in a region with many rolling hills and canyons nearby. It is important to keep this "hills" concept alive in the new design, whether it be in the form of a creative logomark or interwoven with an trendy script.
While Canyon Hills would like a design that works well in black and white, introducing color is of high interest. The church strives to be the friendliest church around, so conveying a warm, welcoming message via earth tones (United-Church.png) or other inviting colors (Cherrydale.png) is ideal.
Although the full name of the church is Canyon Hills Friends Church, only “Canyon Hills” needs to stand out prominently. “Friends Church” can be thought of as a slogan/subtitle and does not need to be as visible as the rest of the name.
Lastly, Canyon Hills would like to avoid any crosses in the design, as they feel too predictable for a church.
