The Burley Irrigation District is headquartered in Burley, Idaho. The District was established in 1918 to deliver irrigation water to approximately 49,000 acres of farm land in Cassia County. Prior to irrigation, the land was arid mountain desert, but it is now transformed into a productive, fertile agricultural area nicknamed the Magic Valley. Water from the Snake River is diverted from Minidoka Dam through a network of canals totaling over 400 miles in length that the District owns and maintains. Our target audience includes farmers, irrigation companies, suppliers, government agencies, and schools.
