Who are you known as?
A Farm Less Ordinary
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We are an organic vegetable farm that hires and trains adults with special needs to be growers, to harvest, and to distribute the food to the city. We are building this farm for our severely autistic son, and people like him, who need a place where they can perform meaningful work that is customized to their various special needs. We are city people who moved to the country to change our lives and create our own tribe, our own world, our own set of rules. Our target audience includes families on Capitol Hill in DC, as well as families like ours who have adult children in search of work and meaning.

To give us an idea of the overall feeling of your brand, let us know which styles you lean towards
This is a really important endeavor for us and for families like us. Our children need something to do when they are adults. They need a reason to leave the house. We want them to feel safe here and we want them to be able to communicate their value to the world. We believe strongly in creating your own tribe, finding a community that "gets it" (what it's like to have a disability and a family member with one). We want to be a safe place. But we also subscribe to a flexible life, one where the rules are meant to be bent, and where chaos is expected. We are DIY-ers who are learning as we go along. Our lives are quirky, crazy, and difficult, and we own that.
