Swarm! is the first massively multiplayer augmented reality game developed for Google Glass. Swarm! allows players to take on the role of superpowered ants and vie for control of territory and resources just by going about their daily routines and interacting with the world around them. Players' movements leave persistent, colorful, individualized "trails" on the in-game map that's accessible to all other players, providing a record of the popularity and interaction history of different locations. Players form "colonies" (teams) with their friends, level up their avatars, and help shape a rich and diverse game world with their every action.
By moving around, players increase their influence over ground they cover, and the more they visit a location the more control they have. Taking pictures, checking in, tagging locations, and otherwise digitally interacting with locations increases their influence and augments players' in-game statistics.
