mel.evans got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Create a logo for a consortium of ragtags, rabble rousers & tattooed-troublemakers
Check out mel.evans's Logo design contest…
Our brand/business: Westwinds is a church unlike any other church, a consortium of ragtags and misfit toys, rabble rousers and tattooed troublemakers, with mischief and mayhem running rampant all over the sacristy and sacraments. AKA we're weird, but holy. Our target audience: We're looking for thinkers and makers, intellectuals and creatives, people who are spiritually curious but disenfranchised with organized religion. Spiritual but not religious? Perfect! We resonate best with young men between 25-35 who enjoy the outdoors. Values to communicate with our design: - Authenticity: something raw, earthy - Community: something fun, festival-like (think Bonnaroo, not Macy's Day parade) - Imagination: something clever and innovative - Generosity: something about doing good works in our neighborhood Stylistic preferences: Think raw, earthy, rustic. Think stamp or icon, simple, geometric, easy to identify (see below for examples). If made in color it also needs to look good in black and white. For an icon use W or something having to do with the wind.
Other color requirements
I'd like to explore the following colors: Aquas: Empathy, compassion, clarity and precision. Light neutrals: Purity, balance and sophistication. Yellows: Energy, intellect, fun and youth.
It all began with a design brief.
A quick, interactive guide helped them understand their design style and captured exactly what they needed in their logo design.
Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
mel.evans collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
