We are a full-service public relations and marketing agency that typically serves small and medium size businesses that don't have the budget for a full-time department, but want full-time department results. We typically take on specialized projects that require more innovation and are known for producing clever, quirky campaigns versus a traditional agency.
Logo types to explore
I have attached our current logo, which isn't bad. Our main problem with this logo is that it is "REALLY Web 2.0" (which may not be as timeless as we originally hoped) and that it doesn't work well with embroidered collared shirts, website headers, and letterhead. Our motto is "Always fresh, always sweet." The business was named for the need for marketing to be "evergreen" or always relevant. With a really trendy Web 2.0 logo, we know that we aren't always going to be relevant. So we are looking for something that is simple and easily recognizable. Currently, the logo features a snow capped tree which is important because we are in the Pacific Northwest... but the idea could be scrapped if you think of something better. The logo also features a speech bubble which is painfully similar to the Messages icon on the iPhone. The speech bubble was implemented because it shows that we "spark conversations." It's not necessarily all that important, though... and I'd rather not have to fight Apple one day over whether or not it was an original idea. Our audience: Our main clients tend to be small to medium size businesses like attorneys, doctors, and casinos. We don't need to be as "professional" as these businesses because we want to be recognized as being fun, innovative, clever, and smart. As for the typeface - we are not married to that either, although we'd probably side on "Sans Serif" 9 times out of 10. Sugar Pine should be two distinct words and they can be all capital, not capital at all, or properly capitalized, whatever works best. I hope that whoever wins the contest would also be able to supply me with the .ttf files for the relevant fonts. When coming up with an emblem or pictorial mark, also keep in mind that this may be used for an icon for an iPhone app, a favicon in a web browser, and a desktop icon for other projects. Last but not least, the concept for "Sugar Pine" may be expanded into other categories beyond Media... For example, we may end up involved in Property Management at one point... It is most important to brand "Sugar Pine" and then the "Media" is sort of secondary. "Media" should be switchable with many other categories of business in the future. If that doesn't make sense, please feel free to message me! Thanks and good luck.
