There is a difficult balance to reach between the sometimes clunky feel of what steampunk implies and the need for cleanliness in logo art for something to quickly anchor in the mind. If you have ever seen the SaltLife logos, it's hard to see that they intended that to be driftwood. Steampunk must have the romance of the clothes and the era, with all the enthusiasm of being on the verge of great science.
