Collinsville Church got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Create a fresh modern logo to represent a growing, vibrant church

We are a modern church seeking to reach out to the next generation. We also work to make our church a place where people who have experienced difficulty can find love, acceptance, and family. Our mission statement is that we are a "safe place to heal and grow."
Logo types to explore
We don't want the logo to look too "stuffy" or to have stiff classical representations of church (cross, Jesus fish, etc.). A cross could possibly be incorporated so long as it was modernized. There is a link below of a video we've put together about our church and it shows a CG rendering of the new church building we are about to begin construction on: http://youtu.be/7e2-zX-8CKo While we don't necessarily want to have a picture of the building itself incorporated into the logo, there may be architectural design elements that could serve as inspiration.

And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
