We are a delicatessen styled cafe in Tokyo with a twist - on top of the usual cafe fare - we also sell English conversations.

A few things:
Kaiwa means conversation in Japanese. The name literally translates as Cafe Conversation.
The cafe is in its early stages of development - but we are about to start using social media to promote our cafe through a series of satirical short films (ads). So we want to build our brand reputation through these before we open - The coffee shop will have English speaking staff offering conversations as well as food and coffee - so we would like the logo to represent coffee, conversations, be fun and energetic - in line with our media campaign. I originally toyed with a blackboard logo with Cafe Kaiwa written on it with a birds eye of some coffee art (A devilish grin in the cappuccino foam) and I also looked at forming a logo with coffee beans as the outline - however these all seemed great in my mind however in practice they looked like a 3 year old had stumbled across a pen and paper and made a mess on my stationary. I have purposely left out colors prefs because I do not have any at this point in time.
Prefer not to have a standard coffee as a logo - as it doesn't really stand out from the crowd - I want something creative whether it be a symbol or an object or an animal.
So I leave it to you - go forth and conquer - don't be limited to my idea's!
