dhuie got their new logo & business card by running a design contest:
Logo for a weather forecasting, monitoring & decision analysis system

MeuClima -- which means “my weather” in Portuguese -- is a cloud-based weather forecasting and decision analysis system. Our initial target market will be corporate customers in Brazil although we eventually plan to expand to the rest of Latin America. The national weather services in Latin America only provides weather information for the larger municipalities throughout the country. However the distance of many of our customers’ assets (farms, mines, factories, etc.) from these municipalities means that the weather information provided is of questionable value. By contrast, MeuClima offers highly localized weather forecasts for each specific geographic location of our customers’ assets. In addition to 1 to 7 day forecasts, MeuClima also offers near-term (1 to 2 hour) severe storm warnings, lightning detection, and a customizable weather alert system that warns customers of adverse weather events via email and/or SMS text messages. In the future, the Company will continue to add new weather-related services to benefit our customers, among these, a satellite-based product that detects and warns of fires/hot spots, a long-term (30, 60, and 90 day) forecast product, and agriculture-specific products such as a water budget model that informs our customers when and how much to irrigate a particular field. Our goal is to enable our customers to create a highly customizable, highly individualized platform made of the highest quality weather products in the industry to meet all of their weather-related needs -- hence the name MeuClima (“my weather”).
Obviously given what we do, I think it would be appropriate to consider working in a weather motif into the logo (clouds, sun, rain, etc.).
