nickc m got their new landing page design by running a design contest:
A Landing Page to Help Animals
Check out nickc m's Landing page design contest…
Animal & Pet
MeatVideo.com is a landing page that we use in conjunction with our non-profit's online advertising campaign. The website shows a video about the treatment of animals on modern farms, and provides resources on eating vegetarian. The goal of the site is to inspire visitors to: a) click through to order a vegetarian starter guide ; b) click to share the page on social media; c) click to like our non-profit on Facebook.
We want a style that walks a somewhat odd line: one that is generally white or bright and that will seem stylish to young women age 13-25, but that is not too lighthearted given that the video content on the page is very sad and serious. Aside from that, we don't have any specific thoughts on textures, shapes, or colors.
Elements to include in the landing page
To start, please see our existing site at http://www.MeatVideo.com While the general approach will remain the same, we'd like a new landing page with the following changes. To start, we want to change the background color and design feel to make the site either white or some other brighter color - something that looks more stylish and in the vein of what teen-oriented websites look like, as opposed to somber and black. 90% of our audience will be women aged 13-25, so we want a site design that will speak to them and be consistent with top-notch sites that target that audience. Next, we want to make changes to the content pieces on the landing page: -To the right of the video, we want to have the main and top item be a visually prominent "Free Vegetarian Starter Guide" section asking for the visitor's email address and zip code. Underneath it, we would like to have a "How To Help" link. We want to remove the other right column links currently on MeatVideo.com -Around the video, we want to mimic Upworthy's layout (ex, http://tiny.cc/i3bf8w ). Therefore, we'd like to have a big Facebook button and small Twitter share button above the video. We'd like to have a big Facebook and small Twitter share buttons appear above the left side of video when a mouse scrolls over the video. Undernearth the video we'd like to have a Facebook share bar and a "Free Vegetarian Starter Guide" bar (again asking for email and zip code). These bars under the video will need to be taller than Upworthy's, to allow for the Veg Starter Guide order form fields. -Beneath the video, we'd want to embed a Facebook Comments plug-in section similar to what's on the website http://www.WhatCameBefore.com, with a prominent like button at the top. - As part of the page design, we'd like a a small pop-up window that asks people to share the video on FB/twitter and that offers a free Vegetarian Starter Guide. - We'd also like to mimic Upworthy again by having a small box that hovers at the bottom right of the screen once you scroll down, that shows up after 20 seconds on the page, that asks you to "like" our organization on Facebook. -Lastly, please note that in addition to the main landing page design (as specified above) if you are the winner we will likely want to pay you a bit extra afterwards to create several additional similar designs. These would have the same general layout, but with changes made to the share/like/order buttons. For example those buttons could be changed in size, color, design, or placement on the page. The reason we will do that as a second step is so we can then test all of the versions against one another to see which generates the most clicks. So if you want, feel free to upload several variants on each page design as that would make you more likely to be chosen.

Excellent work. Pixel's ToyBox gave us the experience we hoped a designer would offer but weren't sure we would find at 99 Designs. Design reflected a creative interpretation of exact details we provided in logo description. The work Pixel's ToyBox did stood out from all the rest. Easy choice.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
