akempf got their new infographic by running a design contest:
Design an Infographic

Story to tell in the infographic
We are looking for a highly skilled designer who can take the sketch of a concept and bring it to life visually. This project includes the files of the current iteration of the design which was developed in 2014. We are looking for a new design which conveys the information in an updated, visually appealing way. The infographic will be based on a Maslow's pyramid, with 4 distinct phases. The bottom phase shows the 1st level of plant health which is achieved through photosynthesis. Each section of the pyramid will correspond to the next level of plant health and will show 3 things, either via text or visually: the integrity of plant physiology at this stage, the pests plants develop resistance to at this stage, and the actions growers can take to achieve this stage of plant health. The infographic also needs to convey that the lower 2 levels of plant health are passive immunity, and based on balanced chemistry, and the upper 2 levels are active immunity and based on vigorous biology.
Data to include in the infographic
The information which is contained in the attached file called AEA Plant Health Pyramid. We are interested in seeing how we can creatively convey the information in a visual and text format. The text information on page 2 of the file should be conveyed by the pyramid infographic but does not need to be included in its entirety.
Elements to include in the infographic
The infographic needs to include the pyramid shape. The green color of the pyramid at the bottom depicts the photosynthesis at that stage. As the plant moves towards higher levels of health, phytoalexins and aromatic compounds are developed within the plant, and these aromatic, medicinal compounds are bright red and orange colors. We would like to explore different ways of conveying these colors at the specific levels they come into play with or without the use of gradient. The design also needs to include the AEA logo, but not necessarily in a prominent position. The bottom 2 levels, photosynthesis and protein synthesis, are both composed of a crystalline structure. It may or may not be possible to convey this in the design of the bottom two levels. I've attached a file with some design examples that have elements that could be integrated.
We are looking for a deliverable of the infographic and a png image of the pyramid itself.
