Personal initiative. Restaurant review focused only on one suburb in Melbourne Australia. Reviews focus on the end to end experience - food, style, atmosphere, customer service, cross channel experience. Blog is basis supported by Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. Blog/brand is called skippingrichmond. Skipping comes from an iconic symbol in Richmond - a girl skipping on top of a building that is lit up at night (search google images for 'richmond skipping girl'
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
I am looking for 6 icons, 5 will used as the ranking/grading for each restaurant and one for the blog. Each to be bordered in a circle. There will be 5 levels in the rank, each modeled off the activity of skipping as follows - format below is 'name of ranking | level of skipping to match grading | description to help create the icons needed:
1. Don't go | Fallen over | Girl lying on the ground, rope on side, tears on ground, flat on face
2. Keep trying | Ready to skip | Standing holding rope
3. Will satisfy | Basic hop | standard girl with rope over head like icon
4. Get there | Cross over | skipping girl crosses arms in front when skipping
5. Book yesterday | Double unders | two turns of rope for one jump
I am also keen to get a generic icon for skipping richmond using the iconic image. I am after ideas here but needs to align to icons. This will either sit next to 'skippingrichmond' blog title or as the title with name included - love ideas?!
I am after advice on how/where to include the name of ranking,( i.e.get there) and the skipping term (double under). The ranking name is primary copy, the skipping term secondary.
The blog will start our using free wordpress so very simply. It will have an interesting story feel focusing on the style/atmopshere and a local richmond feel. Due to limited functionality I wont have alot of flexibility using icon so needs to be crisp, clear, makes sense and easily used across media - i.e. copied to coloured background, printable etc, black/white version.
The colour scheme will be similair to image attach - watermelon red is base colour, secondary colours are pink, yellow/lemon, black and white. Therefore think icons need to be simple using either red for person on white or other ideas you can suggest.
Attached one idea I had for icons but also up for other cool ideas!!!!
The 3rd image with green tone was a print i bought but added to show popularity and how it is represented.
