Art & Design
We are a new Fashion design brand. Our aesthetic would be best described as elegant space cult. A dichotomy between dark and light is something we want to incorporate. We also want to incorporate an aesthetic that feels symbolic, mysterious and almost religious. We are a highly artistic and forward thinking company and are looking to innovate. Our target audience is those who feel like outsiders or those who wear their hearts on their sleeves.
some of these images I uploaded are from my moodboard and are meant to communicate the aesthetic of our clothes and overall brand. We want to have Both an independent logo and the name Moonflower in a special font or design that go together well. More decrepit and dark designs. More balanced and less overtly positive. It’s also not at all necessary or suggested to put the moon as a center piece of the logo. No need for the moon and flowers in the logo, doesn’t need to be too literal. Less geometric and more organic and not too corporate. Try to stay away from stuff that resembles Star Trek and also try and stay away from tribal symbolism such as arrows. "Surrealism" is something we definitely want to incorporate. Really just refer to the image references for direction after reading this. We are looking for a true piece of art.

My relationship with Vesper has mixed feelings. At first, I was baffled why he dropped out so early, but grateful he returned at my invitation. Sometimes he was a little slower to respond, reply, and edit than the other designers, but his thoughts and directions and educating me (not required obviously) were beneficial. Only one other designer along with Vesper took time to educate and correct my thinking. Both of these high-quality designers also listened intently to my detailed requests with both understanding and appreciation. On my last day before approving the final logo, I spent time on the phone with Vesper. A one hour conversation started with him apologizing (which was just what I needed: he addressed everything that bothered me: delayed responses, and ego) and lead to us getting to know each other. Over the conversation, I was able to understand more of his mind and heart. Before our phone conversation, I would have rated him three stars: a two star reduction because I get annoyed with ego… mostly because I have an issue with my own ego. Through conversation, the ego quickly faded, the inner man shined, and we struck a good chord together! I don’t know if it was talent, or a miracle, but his logo more than any other fit perfectly with the deep feelings behind what we do. He didn’t even know it, and he was capturing the feeling, the overall purpose, and the external image all in one logo. I believe he needed to be a part of our image creation as much as we needed the perfect logo. I don’t think he had to put in as much effort as some of the others did call that’s where it’s either talent or miracle… or a combination of both. Either way, in the end, I am grateful for his logo and the privilege I had to speak with him on the phone for an hour. When he combines his time, talents, energy, and assets, he is a great artist and blessing to humanity! And I’m guessing his car will be immaculate within a week. =-)
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
