Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
I am the principal in an indie publishing company (currently representing one client) that publishes works of fiction aimed at women 25-50 (and slightly older).
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
We need a book cover designed. (Both the wraparound and a jpg of front cover only) While the book is not part of a series, it needs to look like it fits into the overall family published by the author. The author writes PG-rated romantic comedy and the covers need to reflect the sparkling, comedic aspect of the work. We stay away from photographs on the covers. The target audience is female, 25-50 but can lean older as well. We originally felt a green, plum, yellow palette for this book, but are very open. Font doesn't need to match other books, but shouldn't be so far away as to look like it is in another genre.
Because the book is set in Singapore and China, we'd like an Asian feel, but not a heavy cartoonish way. We want a tasteful Asian feel. Because "Plum Blossom" is in the title ("Passports and Plum Blossoms: An International Romantic Comedy"), we need that represented in some way. Travel is indicated as well. I'm attaching the book synopsis below for more background. Also, I've attached the current books to show the family of books that this one needs to harmonize with. My team will work closely with you on final specs for the size of spine, dimensions, etc. https://www.awesomestories.com/asse…som-Flower
